This bicyclist tent was designed to be an optimal structure for two people. The unique form uses a single arced diagonal across a rectangular floor plan. The resultant shape is that of two half-cones intersecting on an angle. The interior space allows two campers to sleep head to toe, with separate doors for each. The weight, including floor and screens, is under five pounds.
This tent was designed for
Marine Corps crews on patrol. The design is modular and extendible
in two-person increments up to any number. The concept was to
help crews meet and plan as a group in a single space, no matter
how many members. This design was produced and tested and used
worldwide by the US Marine Corps.
